Man & van
The right size for a smaller move
When a full removals lorry would be overkill, a driver and a van is the honest, sensible answer — for a few rooms, a studio, a single item, a student move or a quick collection.
Not every move needs a big lorry and a four-person crew. A lot of jobs are a room, a car-load of boxes, a single item or a first flat — and for those, our man and van is the sensible choice. You get a driver, a right-sized van, and a genuine pair of hands to load, carry and unload, without paying for a full removal you do not need.
The jobs a man and van suits
A studio or one-bed flat move. A few rooms of furniture. A single sofa, bed, wardrobe or fridge-freezer that will not go in the car. A student move to or from halls, a marketplace pick-up, a collection or delivery. If it fits a van and does not need a crate-and-crew operation, it is a man-and-van job — and we quote it plainly rather than dress it up as something bigger.
Sized honestly, quoted plainly
The whole point of man and van is that it is proportionate. We match the van and the help to what you are actually moving — one person and a small van for a light load, two for anything heavier or up a few flights. You pay for the load you have got, not a minimum that stings, and if a job clearly needs two people we will say so before the day.
Careful, even for a small job
A small move gets the same care as a large one — furniture protected, awkward pieces handled properly, your things carried in and set down where you want them. When a job grows past what a van can carry, our house removals take over, and for a move the length of the country see our long-distance removals.

Man and van — your questions
What can a man and van move?
A great deal — a studio or one-bed flat, a few rooms of furniture, a single sofa, bed or fridge, a collection or delivery, or a student move. If it fits a van and a couple of pairs of hands, it is a man-and-van job rather than a full removals lorry.
Is man and van cheaper than a full removal?
For a small load, usually — you are paying for the van and the help you actually need, not a big lorry and a full crew. We size the van and the pair of hands to the job and quote it plainly, so you know what you are getting before anyone turns up.
Do the driver and van help load, or just drive?
They help — carrying, loading, securing the load and unloading at the other end. This is a proper man-and-van service, not van hire. If a job clearly needs an extra pair of hands, we will say so up front rather than leave you short on the day.
Can you do student moves and single items?
Yes — student moves, first flats and single items are exactly what a man and van is for. A room in halls, a sofa across town, a marketplace pick-up — welcome jobs, sized and priced for a small load.
Do you cover collections and deliveries?
We do. A single item bought online, a piece of furniture from a shop, a delivery for a business — collected and delivered, carried in and put where you want it, not left on the doorstep.
