About Wynnes

Who are Wynnes Removals?

A long-standing, family-named UK removals firm. We move households and businesses across London and the UK, with man-and-van for the smaller jobs, careful packing and secure storage, and a European arm for moves that cross the Channel. You deal with a real firm and a real person, not a broker or a call centre.

Where do you cover?

The everyday move across London and the home counties, the longer move the length of the country — the West Country, the Midlands, the North and Scotland — and the international move into Europe. We do the ordinary things properly wherever the move takes us.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry comprehensive cover appropriate to your move, and we explain it clearly before you commit — the scope, any conditions, and how it applies. It is set out plainly, not buried in small print.

Will I deal with the same firm throughout?

Yes. From the first survey to the last box carried in, you deal with Wynnes and a real point of contact who knows your move — not a job passed off to a chain of firms along the way.

Do you charge for a quote or a survey?

No — quotes and surveys come without obligation. For anything sizeable we would rather see the move, in person or by video, so the written quote reflects the real job rather than a guess.

Services & quotes

Our moves, and getting a quote

Do you move whole houses or just single rooms?

Both, and everything in between — a studio flat, a one-bed, a family house, or a single room. We size the crew and the van to the move so you get the right service, whether it is a car-load of boxes or a full four-bed.

Do you do business and office moves?

Yes — offices, shops and commercial premises, moved around your working day, with IT, desks and records handled and labelled and set up at the new site. Evening, weekend and phased moves keep trading going while the move happens.

Is man and van cheaper than a full removal?

For a small load, usually — you are paying for the van and the help you actually need, not a big lorry and a full crew. We size the van and the pair of hands to the job and quote it plainly, so you know what you are getting before anyone turns up.

Do you move long distance, the length of the country?

Yes. A national move is planned and priced as one job — the route, the timing and the crew arranged in advance, with a part-load or a dedicated load to suit — so a move across the country runs as smoothly as one across town.

Will you take furniture apart and put it back together?

Yes. Beds, wardrobes, flat-pack and anything that will not go through a doorway or up a stair whole are dismantled, moved and rebuilt at the new home or premises. It is part of the service, not an extra.

How do you quote a move?

We survey it — in person or by video — then send a clear written quote and what it covers. No figure guessed on the phone. For bigger moves the survey is where we agree the plan, the crew and how any awkward or fragile pieces will be handled.

Packing, storage & Europe

Packing, storage & moving abroad

Do you do the packing, or just the move?

Either. We can pack the whole home or office for you — fragile items, furniture, the loft and the garage — with a labelled inventory, or just the breakables while you handle the rest. It folds into the same booking as the move.

Can you store our things between homes?

Yes. If there is a gap between moving out and moving in, or you simply need things out of the way, we hold them in clean, dry, secure storage on a full inventory and bring them back when you are ready — short or long term.

Do you handle awkward things — pianos, lofts, garages?

We do. Pianos, heavy and awkward furniture, and the contents of lofts and garages are handled by people used to them — protected, secured and carried properly. Tell us what needs particular care and we will plan for it.

Which European countries do you move to?

We run regular removals to France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, each with its own page setting out the route and the paperwork. Other European countries, and destinations further afield, are arranged on request.

Do you handle the customs paperwork for a move abroad?

Yes. Since Brexit an EU move needs a customs declaration and a detailed inventory, and used household effects can usually come in under transfer-of-residence relief when you are moving your main home. We prepare the declarations and transit documents and tell you exactly what to provide.

Can you collect from more than one address for a move abroad?

Yes. A move abroad often involves more than one collection — a second home, or belongings held elsewhere in the country. We build additional collections into the plan rather than leaving you to arrange them separately.

How soon should I book?

As early as you can, especially for busy periods and month-ends. Getting in touch ahead of time gives us the best chance of the slot that suits you, and it lets us plan a bigger or longer move properly. That said, we will always do our best at shorter notice.
